Some ideas for improving your Evaluations

Having read several of your evaluations, there are a few things you might want to do to improve them

1) MAKE YOUR PREZI'S MORE VISUAL .... too many are very text heavy
i.e if you are commenting on target audience add a picture of who your TA is
(refer back to work you did in the R&P phase of the project)

If you are suggesting a publishing company, use their logo

If you are trying to show how similar or different your product is to existing products include picture of the FC's DPS, and contents pages of these other publications and compare your product with there product

2) CAPITALISE YOUR I's...... too many of you are making grammatical errors, re-read what you have written and make sure the basics are right!! capitalisation, spellings, sentence structure....... it does not make a good impression on the examiner if your work is littered with grammatical errors (the same goes for your blog entries)

3) EMBED YOUR LINKS......... I and nor does an examiner have the patience to copy and paste links to your work, all we want to do is click on a link and see your work!

4) USE MEDIA TERMINOLOGY....... have you used enough? when you comment on what you have done are you using the right language to describe the feature of your magazines? mastheads, straps, puffs,DPS etc

5)DISTRIBUTION........ when you are commenting on which companies publish your products, really think about WHY they would want to do this!! What does your product offer a publishing house that THERE EXISTING PORTFOLIO DOESN'T COVER!! Why would a publishing house who already own a magazine targeted at young women and pop, publish another magazine of the same genre? THINK ABOUT THE ECONOMICS OF HOW MAGS MAKE MONEY!!

Ok my lovelies

Having got a tad bored of posting the same comment for the fifth time......... I decided to post a comment for all of you!!

SO LISTEN UP!!!

IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO POST YOUR FINISHED/DRAFTS OF YOUR PRODUCT ON YOUR BLOG

YOU MUST ADD COMMENTARY TO EXPLIAN WHAT YOU'VE DONE...........
If you haven't DONE THIS YET go back and EDIT YOUR POSTS WITH COMMENTARY

PHASE 3 EVALUATION QUESTIONS

In the evaluation the following questions MUST be answered:

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Who would be the audience for your media product?

How did you attract/address your audience?

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

THIS TASK IS WORTH THE SAME AMOUNT OF MARKS AS THE RESEARCH AND PLANNING PHASE

Uploading

Here is a guide on how to upload your documents to Scribd.com.

To do this using openID you probably need to be an administrator of your blog, we can't make you administrators until you have logged in via the invitation you should have received to your school email address. If you did not receive an invitation or you have logged in and not yet been given administrator priviledges please let either Miss Smith or Ms Bostock know. (At the moment the easiest way for me to know if you have accessed your blog is for you to post to it) Once you have administrator priviledges you will also also be able to change the look of your site if you wish, however please leave the student blogs block as it is so it is possible to easily navigate around the blogs, thanks.
